Garrett Morlan is an award winning creative/art director, graphic designer, and illustrator residing in Seattle, Wa via Brooklyn, NY. With over 26 years of professional creative direction, design and illustration experience, his work has spanned a vast array of brand, marketing, video game and entertainment clientele including PlayStation, Bungie, UltraMan, The Stranger, AOL, Adidas, Universal Music, Verve Music Group, Citibank, US Ski and Snowboard Association, The US Olympic Committee, Scholastic, Time Warner, and Blackbird Presents, among many others.
Currently, Garrett spends his days as Creative Director (Marketing) at PlayStation /Bungie bringing thoughtful creative direction, art, graphic design, marketing and brand life to PLayStation and Bungie and its IPs. In the remaining hours of the day, Garrett fills his free time making gig posters for renowned musical artists including Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson, David Crosby, Blink-182, The Tragically Hip, The Dirty Heads, The Avett Brothers, Scott Avett, The Black Angels, Brandi Carlile, Goose, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction/Porno for Pyros), The Stone Pony as well as work for Blackbird Presents’ many concert events for John Lennon, Jerry Garcia, Johnny Cash, Emmy Lou Harris, Kenny Rogers, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, and Levon Helm among others!
If that’s not enough, he can be found creating illustrations for many cross functional clients, from Willie Nelson’s Official Store to local brewery, Project 9 Brewing Co. as well as making comics, drawing, painting and generally just making things.
Garrett received his BFA, with honors, in Communications Design (Graphic Design and Illustration) from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York winning the Art Directors Club Award in Illustration and Design. He has also taught Illustration as an Adjunct Instructor at Pratt Institute.
Previously, Garrett was Co-Founder and Creative Director of Big Rig Creative, an award winning creative studio in New York City. His work has garnered many awards and accolades, including the The 2025 Clio Awards (music category), Platinum Crushie in the 2024 Craft Beer Marketing Awards, Davey Awards (twelve times), Webby Awards (two times), Telly and W3 awards. His work has been featured as a winner in the Communication Arts Typography Annual 3, Communication Arts Illustration Annuals 56, 57, 63, 64,65 and 66, The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles 51, 52, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62 and 63nd Illustration West Competition and American Illustration 38, 41 and 42. Additionally, Gold and Silver award winner for work on Destiny in the Game Marketing Awards 2015 and Platinum Award in the 2016 Graphis Design Annual.
