Garrett Morlan is an award winning creative/art director, graphic designer, and illustrator residing in Seattle, Wa via Brooklyn, NY. With over 20 years of professional design and illustration experience, his clientele includes Seattle Magazine, The Stranger, Activision, AOL, Adidas, Universal Music, Verve Music Group, Citibank, US Ski and Snowboard Association, The US Olympic Committee, Scholastic, Time Warner, and Microsoft, among others.
Currently, Garrett spends his days as Art Director of Visual Identity and Design at Bungie in Bellevue, WA bringing thoughtful graphic design, marketing and brand life to Bungie and the highly acclaimed video game Destiny. In the remaining hours of the day, Garrett fills his time making gig posters, comics, drawing, painting and generally just making things.
Garrett received his BFA, with honors, in Communications Design (Graphic Design and Illustration) from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York winning the Art Directors Club Award in Illustration and Design. He has also taught as Professor of Illustration at Pratt.
Previously, Garrett was Co-Founder and Creative Director of Big Rig Creative, an award winning creative studio in New York City. His work has garnered several awards including the Davey Awards (twelve times), Webby Awards (two times), Telly and W3 awards. His work has been featured as a winner in the Communication Arts Typography Annual 3, Communication Arts Illustration Annuals 56 and 57, Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles 51st, 52nd, 54th, 55th, 56th and 57th Illustration West Competition, and Gold and Silver award winner for work on Destiny in the Game Marketing Awards 2015 and Platinum Award in the 2016 Graphis Design Annual.
